Husband of Atlanta spa shooting victim says he was handcuffed by police for four hours after attack

Marco González wanted to take his wife to the spa for a date night. Instead, he claims, police treated him like a suspect after she was fatally shot inside Young’s Asian Massage outside Atlanta.

González, who heard the gunshots that eventually killed his wife, 33-year-old Delaina Ashley Yaun, on Tuesday, told Spanish-language news site Mundo Hispánico that Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies detained him for almost four hours, leaving him handcuffed.

“Maybe because I’m Mexican, I don’t know,” he told the outlet. “Because the truth is, they treated me badly.”

For a while, he didn’t even know his wife had died.

“They knew that I was the husband,” he told Mundo Hispánico.

González and Yaun married last year and have an 8-month-old daughter, as well as her 13-year-old son from a previous relationship.

“What I need now is support, because I have a boy and a girl,” he said. “They took the most valuable thing I have in my life.
