A man was shot at a Motel 6 in San Antonio, Texas after his act of kindness to a stranger was “not enough.”
On Tuesday, San Antonio police responded to a report of a disturbance just after 2 a.m. When officers arrived, they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, a motel guest, told police he was at the motel when a stranger approached and knocked on his window. He told the police he thought the man was going to “rob him” but when he opened the door the stranger asked for money.
The man said he handed the man money but the stranger replied that it was “not enough” and the two began arguing, WOAI reported. According to police, the stranger then pulled out a revolver and shot the motel guest.
Although the man was injured, he was able to wrestle the gun away from the suspect and in the process shot him back twice, police said. Both suffered from gunshot wounds to the stomach and were transported to a local hospital.
Both men are in stable condition and expected to survive, police said. SAPD is now investigating the altercation to determine who will face charges and who acted in self-defense.
Police told Newsweek that this is still an active and ongoing investigation.
In Philadelphia, a suspect attempting to rob a pizza shop was shot by a 14-year-old boy. The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. on December 9 at a local pizzeria.
According to police, three men entered the pizzeria and demanded money from the restaurant’s cash register. During the robbery, one man allegedly choked a female employee who said she could not open the register without a code.
The female employee’s teenage son was at the pizzeria during the robbery and quickly jumped into action. Police said when the suspect began choking his mother, the teen grabbed a handgun hidden beneath the counter.
The teen then shot the suspect in the face, police said. The three men then fled the scene leaving a trail of blood behind them.
Police followed the trail to a subway station where they found the injured suspect bleeding severely. Police said they did not find a weapon on the suspect but did find a large amount of cash in his pockets.
The suspect was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries but his current condition is unknown.
Police are investigating the possibility that the three men were also involved in another robbery in the area. According to police, minutes before the pizzeria was robbed, three allegedly armed men robbed a pharmacy two blocks away.
